FPS Unlocker crashes game to desktop??
Ok, so I was excited to revisit this game in g l o r i o u s 60fps thanks to Psyche's FPS Unlocker, but whenever I activate the unlocker, the game just closes itself, no error message, no glitchyness beforehand, just... poof! Gone. I know that other people have had this issue and I've found no fix for it yet. Any ideas?

For reference, I have tried:

Activating the unlocker at the menu without logging in (game closes)
Logging in at the menu and then activating the unlocker (game closes)
Going into a singleplayer campaign level* and activating the unlocker after it loads (game still closes)

*Doubt it matters, but the level was the first Decepticon level, when you first fight the turrets.

Sorry, the fix is completely broken. I think when game was removed off of steam, an update or something was implemented that permanently broke the game. There is only one fps unlocker and it is now outdated.

I was doing the exact same thing as you, hoping to revisit a classic game. I used the exact same fix before with not a single issue, yet now for some reason, it crashes my game as well. I've updated the game's PC Gaming Wiki as no one is even mentioning a solution for it yet. It sucks.

I'm currently trying to figure out how to roll back the game itself, which might make it compatible with the fps unlocker. I'll check back with my progress once I test it out.

Damn, that's a shame... I wish you the best of luck on that. I had no idea that the game got taken off of Steam. Let's just hope we can figure this out soon...

There is a fix! I have Windows 10 and used GeneralAdmission's TWFC FOV Tool and FPS Unlocker (v0.2). You can download it from Wide Screen Gaming Forum (WSGF) at:

http://www.wsgf.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=24097

1. Start TWFC FOV & FPS Tool.exe before or while the game is running
2. At Set Framerate dropdown, choose desired FPS (Unlocked, 120, 90, 60, 30)
3. Actual FPS should change automatically/dynamically

You can also change FOV to different aspect ratios (1 monitor setup - 16:10 or 16:9; 3 monitor setup - 5:4, 16:10, or 16:9) at the Display Configuration dropdown. Toggle/Hot Key '9' as needed.

If for some reason the game crashes, don't get discouraged. Just make sure TWFC FOV Tool and FPS Unlocker shows the settings you want and restart the game. It'll work!

Lastly, I recommend posting feedback with GeneralAdmission at the WSGF link above and here. There's still many who I'm sure would love to play the game at its unlocked FPS buttery glory.

Hope this helps!

The tool works fine for the FPS boost but when I attempt to use the fov changer it crashes every time.

It doesn't seem to do anything for me. I press the hotkey and nothing happens. Does this only work for the steam or patched versions of the game? I'm using a repack from a while back and the hotkeys do not seem to do anything. Also looked in the Coalesced.ini file but editing it doesn't seem to change anything at all. Still get the apparent lack of motion blur even if it looks to be enabled.

EDIT: forgot to launch it as administrator thats why it didnt work, although menu is locked at 60

:steamhappy: Worked for me with a little tweaking, and a bit of help from Flawless Widescreen! I posted images and a short review:

This mod works great except my game doesn't save progress when using it. Is there a solution for this?

Works for me, don't click on the link, instead copy it and paste it into your browser search bar, then it works.
