Chapter 2 Bug - Downstairs (Poppet Key) Door

I obtained the Poppet Key so I could unlock the door downstairs, but upon opening the door I found that the floor was just showing a solid brick object. Since the game saved at this location, I am barred me from progressing any further. Upon loading the save, I spawn right inside the door and all of the objects do a weird reset where they present options to interact with them as if I had never done so before (I can even reobtain the Poppet Key). However, the interactions are often broken and don't result in anything occurring (sans the memories).

In terms of what I had done: I did die after obtaining the key the first time, as I initially tried to turn off the power for the tesla coils at the bottom of the staircase, which resulted in some ghost spawning and killing me in my attempt to go downstairs directly (there was nothing to indicate that it had spawned or would be there, which I'm not sure if it that was by design either). Prior to that, I had also died when reentering the area where the first poppet who opens fire on you resides.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I was playing on Scary difficulty setting, and Silent Night mode was not active.
