Laggy and slow. Launch options helped
So my game is laggy, like really laggy, but I remember when I went to the launcher options I'd entered in something that TREMENDOUSLY helped make the game playable. The problem is: I can't remember what I typed.

If anyone else has a solution please let me know,

Weird. Sorry to hear you're having an issue. Is it laggy for you throughout?

If the problem persists after the usual restarts and whatnot, can you send me your specs?

Its lagging when I go to the starting part and the girls are teasing Cassie. The green echoes are hard to make out. And the scene with the fan, it's slow in general but I can especially tell because the fan blades are slow.

I remember trying to play Watch_Dogs 2 and finding the launch code for something similar, but I can't find it.
did you found out something that could help. i have problems with the game too. its extremely laggy from the start until i enter the house. but then i have from time to time fremedrops and lags.

Thanks for this.

The most important piece I'm looking for is the video card, which I don't see. Sorry, I should have asked for that up front. Seems like you have enough memory, but in the tests we ran, it did run a bit sluggish if you were using onboard video (in other words, no dedicated video card).

So, if you're not running with a video card, that would likely be the problem. But even still, we managed to see big performance gains by adjusting the video settings. Did you try dropping those down yet? Thanks!
so i solved at leats my problem. i dont know if this helps you Firestar001. i am lets playing perception and the lags and framedrops stop when i switched into full picture. looks like the game dont want to be played in windowed mode.
I believe I have NVIDIA GeForce 840M. And I'm VERY thankful for all the help with this. I appreciate it. I've tried lowering the NVIDIA settings to be more performance based so hopefully it'll work.

So, I've tried changing it and I have the graphics down low, however the lagging still persisits.
Hello, I am facing problems of this type, in the menu screen the game runs well, but, just enter the game from scratch the game starts to run ha 5 frames per second, reduced all graphic settings of the game and rose from 5 frames for 7 frames, my computer is all within specifications, and I do not use an onboard video card, mine is a GTX 760.

To leave as a record, I run much heavier games in a smooth way, Mad Max, Shadow of Mordor, GTA 5, The Evil Within, Resident Evil 7 and others.

I look for any solution, I bought the game recently and would love to play it!

Did you ever get the game running well enough?
This solved my lag:

For those who have performance problems with this game, try this:

Delete, or rename, the video files "Wind.mp4" and "Wind.wmv" in the Steam folder "Mouvies". Here is full path: "Steam\steamapps\common\Perception\Perception\Content\Movies".

This removes animated menu screen, but dramatically increases fps in the game.

Yes, this solved my problem too, however, it is incredible that the game has a "bug" of these where with such video files the game is impossible to be played and simply remove such videos and the game becomes perfectly playable.
Playing full HD at the highest setting and the game is running smoothly, however, before deleting such files, even at the lowest resolution and low, the game was running horribly at 5 to 7 fps.
Man i wish that solution worked on my end. No dice unfortunately, does my head in.

Wow, mine too. Please add one more graphics option e.g. Lowest, which ignores these video files.
