Fans gained per photoshoot (spreadsheet). Fetish accessories give just as much an increase, 25%, as Hardware upgrades. I don't know where else I should put this, or if it has even been brought up before.

This is just a guide to tell you how many fans you get per photoshoot.

If you mean "do getting fans from photoshoots" really matter in the long term, then the answer is YES. The amount of fans you get from photoshoots will be a significant issue for you up until the last few days before you hti midnight on day 21. It isn't until that late that you can buy ads that will give you more fans than photoshoots can. Until then you must be sure to increase your fan base to steadily increase your revenue.

I find it best to get the "Subscribe Pillow" accessory on every girl I can, and just do cam shows. That way I can get money and increase my fan base count in a single action. Do keep in mind that the Subscribe Pillow only gives you 50% of the fans you would normally recieve from a photoshoot.

i hate when the photoshoot doesnt give me 4000 fans

Photoshoots will never give more than 124 fans.
The question is, do you want to buy advertisements that give you 4,000 fans on day 15, or day 13? And by extension, on the last day do you want to buy advertisements that give 5,000 or 10,000 or 15,000 fans?

Because the number of fans you buy in advertisements is based on how many fans you already have. So the sooner you build up a larger fan base, the more fans you can get when you buy advertisements.

i would really love to buy promos that give 10000+ fans unfortunately they dont exist, things cap off and you normally get 1 promo around 6000 and the rest ranging between 4000 and 5000, i normally wouldnt have even played that far with such a low score but i was trying a different strategy which didnt work and had previously read this post about not getting large amounts of fans until late game.

Say you have three girls who all have a similiar fetish, like they're all ebony or asian. Go do a photoshoot with all of them, and they'll all make fans that the others can use too! Now do the same with the fetish accessories, like say put every girl with the bondage accessory (max 6 per game). Whenever any of them do a photoshoot, they'll make fans that other girls can use too! Combine these strategies with using the subscription pillow (like say have three ebony women with three bondage accessories PLUS the subscription pillow) and have them do a cam shoot. They'll get money AND create fans for the other girls to use!

The thing is
* a single base fetish is only shared by three girls (like ebony, chubby, glasses etc)
* there are only six fetish accessories of a single type in each game (only six bondage accessories, only six vibrators, only six cat ears etc)
and worst of all

...the subscription pillow only really has significant impact up until 75% of the game. After that, it helps but it doesn't have anywhere near as much bang for its buck as it did in the beginning. But atleast you will have saved all that time & mouse movements by skipping photoshoots, allowing you to be much more efficient.

However, you can buy all advertisements for the last few days and still have money left over, meaning it's to your benefit to increase your fan base the entire game (up until the last day).

What really rattles me is if I'm trying to get a specific item (like subscription pillow or a specific fetish accessory) and I keep entering the adult shop but not getting it... It's just luck of the draw. But each time I enter the adult shop and don't get what I wanted, is time wasted. I become less efficient, and that item costs me time making that item less valuable. Same concept with trying to get a specific girl.

However, after a while (like 75% of the game through) these factors matter less and less as the fans you can gain from advertisements increase...but at that point it's also a matter of luck because they might be ads for fetishes you don't have for many girls.

Hmmm...I did some studying myself, and my findings are in agreement with you that the amount of fans you buy per ad is not determined by your current fans obtained.

My initial observations were that in my first few playthroughs, and playthroughs on rock hard, I could never get 6,000+ fans per advertisement on day 21. Example at http://i.imgur.com/pANX0ZL.jpg where advertisements don't even give 1,300 fans even though it is on day 21. I was certain it must have been because I did not have that many total fans...but now I believe I am wrong after testing. See http://imgur.com/a/UiVDO
The amount of fans you can buy per advertisement does not seem to increase if you have over 8 girls maxed out with skill/talent, so that must not be the deciding factor either.

I am now wondering if it is based on how many upgrades you have purchased. I know that if you do not buy any upgrades, the time needed for cam sessions (and photoshoots too I think) does not increase. Kind of like upgrading Talet/Skill at the StripClub/Shopping Mall, the amount of time it takes to do those activites is based on that girl's currents Talent/Skill level, not anything else. Getting a new recruit at the model agency or getting accessories from the adult shopping area just seem to be based on how many times you've visited those areas in total that session so far. Like first time you go to Modeling Agency it's 1 hour, second time is 2 hours, 3rd time is 4 hours, then it caps out at (8 hours?).

...but back to the cam sessions...I thought if didn't upgrade my girl's Skill/Talent level and kept it low, they'd be quick like they are at the beginning. But when I upgraded something (I think automation collecting) it increased the time my cam sessions took. So now I'm beginning to wonder if total upgrade purchased influence how many fans you can buy per advertisement...but who knows.

Wasn't able to figure out what determines how many fans you can buy per advertisement, but I do feel it is related to upgrades somehow.
And I was also wrong about the time it takes to do cam shows or photo shoots too. They're based on how many times you've visited those places already, like the Adult Shop or the Modeling Agency. Oh yeah, it takes roughly an hour to relax for every 12% stressed out your girl is.

I still find the Subscription pillow very useful...but only in the beginning plus only for a few girls. Around day 16 I couldn't buy all the ads unless I got rid of the four subscription pillows I was using and replaced them for fetish accessories. It's still the best item in the beginning of the game I feel, so I start a game, go to the adult shop & get a subscription pillow as the first thing I do. And if they don't give me a subscription pillow, I just start a new game until they do. Near the end, because the advertisements costs cap out around 3,500,000 a day, you can squeeze out a few more fans by doing photoshoots once you know you've reached a set amount of money. However even in the best case scenario you only get about 1,000 fans per 3 hours that way. Still, better than nothing when you can't buy any more advertisements.
