spam his guard break while in diamond form.
takes like 30% of his health on each hit
well i find those fights more annoying that fun, but then again this is a fighting game so the story isn't the main thing to be playing.
his y+b takes off way more than 2%
Ground combos can be broken out of. You press attack + unique repeatedly I believe. That's how I did it in the vita version and I could reproduce it in the pc version. If you are comboed into the air or from the air, you are screwed.
By the way, this is in no way an insult, but it's going to sound that way no matter how it is phrased. This game is meant to be difficult as hell and repeated multiple times. Don't expect your hand to be held with an easy 1HKO combo.
You will have to repeat certains fights over and over to find strategies to win. One of the missions where you have to fight all 3 admirals back to back with 1 life bar, I had to repeat that battle ~20 times before I finally got it.
This game is a challenge and that's what makes it fun. If you think a game is terrible because it is beating your ass repeatedly, keep on trying until you beat it.
doing 20-30% for me when it hits
though the cpus like to jump to avoid it.
for those special moves, either they take too long to fire, or not possible to measure distance due to the bad camera angles(ace's fire fist is a good example. no way to know how far the fire ball travels). then the game is reduced to guard and combo and so on. this is boring. it's not very helpful. the system is not good enough to make the game play fluent and flexible and that's the biggest problem. clearing the game is not the ultimate goal of it.
i am afraid not. i see no reason to escalate the power of com to a different level from the player's such that the player has hard time to enjoy the fight.
a fight in fighting games is very ephemeral since situation changes so rapidly that one always needs to react on spot and that makes the game fun. so fairness is very important. also the camera angle is important too since i have hard time measuring the range of my attack.
also this game is not meant to be difficult like hell. all difficult like hell fighting games have sophisticated systems, e.g. street fighters, tekken, etc. these games are meant to be difficult and consume massive time on practicing combos. this game? no way. the system is extremely simple and minimum. it's for casual entertainment, for fans, for trivial time killing. this also leads to a result that your "strategies" can only be dead simple, something like logia guard while being attacked, running away for a while before the logia energy fully recharged, dodge aside and combo, together with some character specific observation to predict what's the opponent's next move.
so my conclusion is the game is unbalanced like hell according to my boring boring episode game play.
