How balanced is this game?
I have played the game a little at a friend's and I like it so for but I have only played vs AI. Can someone tell me how well the game works in player vs player? And especially at high level play?

I'm curios how well balanced the game is when it comes to mechanics like the supports and flash counters etc.

If you have any experience with that please share your knowlegde :)

The story mode is really "unballanced" if you will call it that, but thats because of story reasons (luffy being weak compared to everyone else at marineford), But otherwise the onine is pretty cool

Can't say the game is perfectly balanced, but I've never had major problems regarding balance. Everyone is beatable, even when your character is at disadvantage compared to the opponent's. I say the balance is okay.

Balance and unbalance

Balance because every character fights differently.

Unbalance because of supports characters, damage scaling, duplicates, flash counter.

A lot of people think Devil Fruit Logia characters are overpowered, but they're not because you just need a Haki character to break the logia guard.

Ceasar Clown can break Ace and Sabo's logia guard with his oxygen ability. Gas < Fire. There are lots hidden gameplay mechanics related to the series.

A lot of people think Pre Time Skip and Post Luffy are overpowered because he slips (Only for physical attacks because he's rubber) out of combos, but he's not because all you need is a character with a weapon (Whitebeard, Sabo, Zoro, Nami, & Ussop), wide close range moveset diversity (Rob Lucci, Sengoku, Tesoro, Fujitora, & Gekko Moria), or able to disable his ability guard (Blackbeard, Jinbei, Smoker).

The flash counter used to be skilled gameplay mechanic, but the developers patched it making easier for everyone by button mashing the square button while still timing it. This seriously unbalances the game because can flash counter anything, even during an early combo. I hoping they fix this in the next game.

The support characters are unbalanced because you can stack up attacks which help players to beat you in like 3 hits. Some can refill or fill (Gold Roger) your burning gauge to get your ultimate quicker and you do it multiple times. Hina support is not a problem because all you need to do is hit your opponent with special attacks not normal square or triangle attacks. Healing support is unnecessary for a fighting game, but same could be said about Pokken Tournament and Final Fantasy Dissidia. You can remove supports and there's a text bubble to tell people to not remove supports, but they don't listen somethings. You can not remove supports in rank. Some supports are helpful such as Garp disabling devil fruit users ability bar but it's more of a handicap, to be honest.

The Hina, Blueno, Magellan, and Kin'emon are creative because the developers developed them as 3D models (Even though Kin'emon just makes you turn invisible, it's still pretty cool. These almost look like they could have been part of their moveset if they were actually playable characters. Blueno support is basically his R1/RB + X/A dash.

Basil Hawkins support is creative too, even though it's just 2D card popping up.

Fighting the same character is so good, especially fighting 3 Luffys.

You go to free battle for player vs player matches. The COM level can go up to 7 for a better challenge, you can change that in the battle settings before going into battle. You can do a 6 vs 6 or 9 vs 9 in player matches by moving the right d-pad to increase the number characters for your team.

There's cooperative play (couch co-op) for story mode, wanted vs, and free battle for only 2 players.

"One Piece Burning Blood Cooperative Play SWAPPING WITH SPECTATORS If your friend has a wireless controller configured to be player two’s, you can switch battle control to that player without physically handing your controller over. During a battle, press L2 button or R2 button on player two’s controller to switch control over to the other controller. You can do this outside of 2P Play mode as well except online. * The other controller must be configured as player two’s controller. * This cannot be done if controller swapping is not available (such as when there’s no one to swap control to). * Any new save data or Trophies will be awarded to the original player, not the one using player two’s controller. * Consult the Move List in the Pause Menu for more details about each character’s moves."
