TIPS: Stealth and Sneaking
Heya, So I know a few of you aren't fans of Stealth so here's a few tips:

  • Crouch to minimize noise level! Sprinting is the "loudest"
  • If you don't have enough cash for bribing, save a bottle of booze before going down!
  • Pay attention to the Eye icon on your HUD and above the guard to get an idea when they can see you
  • Play around with the first guard in Tutorial to get a feel for it, there is no penalty there.
  • Try picking the Dunabe Badge as your first tool
  • If all else fails, just try to run past a guard and hide in a room or a corner; eventually he will give up chasing and return to patrolling :)

Hope these make the experience more fun for you! You will find additional items later on that will make stealthiness even easier (and one that can make you a stealth-god hehe :)

Frankly I'm not a huge fan of Stealth either, so included a few ways to effectively short-circuit the system I mentioned above ;) I also played enough Thief/Deus Ex/System Shock back in the day to become semi competent at it tho! Those were big inspirations for KARASKI

Thanks for the tips.

i Noticed that the slippers don't work, or at least they don't seem to work as I still hear the clunking of my footsteps. Is this by design?

The sound is still there but the guards wont hear you. It felt a bit weird when initially it muted your steps completely so I left the cue.

ok thanks for the reply. It felt a bit weird hearing footsteps when wearing slippers, maybe for future reference you can perhaps indicate what passive items are equipped onscreen as a choice or option?

Aye it's a bit of a double edged sword either way, feeling weird vs. not sure if its working. BTW, all items in Karaski work automatically except tools, there is no need to equip them :)

Yeah I discovered that in the description, thanks though.

I would love to see how you could expand the game, or at least the idea.

Yea, the whole world setting and themes, being connecting to my first game, could nicely grow into a tangible universe over a few more games. Sadly, the player reception has not been great. While I personally would love to keep crafting it further, I'm not generating enough sales at this point to cover the costs of developing something with such limited niche appeal (or something I suck too much to market properly) :( May need to switch gears... at least for a little while.

Can you quicksave/quickload in this game? If not can you at least save your progress whenever you want from the main menu?

Skynett, no the game only lets you save whenever you find a typewriter (but it does not require ink!) It also auto-saves whenever you enter a new deck.

Aye, it's a bit Thief and Deus Ex inspired, albeit simplified (and sadly didnt have time to implement shadow-based hiding like I wanted to, boo!) It's not the main focus so it's not as pronounced as other elements, but hope you find it scratching a bit of the itch. Let me know your thoughts :)

I can't find the lock pick tool that opens doors.
