Please post the content of your debug.txt file inside the game folder.

Also check windows audio settings and Speaker Setup is set to "Surround". If it is, try changing it to something else and see if that helps.

Here's the debug file.

Im not at home at the moment so cant check. What you are describing I had happen to me with several other games, which was caused by Microsoft without asking me, moved my entire document's folder, and a good part of my sysdata folders to one drive, which is a HUGE nono, especially for games that constantly write to drive, because just one program locks up, lose connection during write access, that entire folder is now gone. I dont know if Balrum writes to the documents folder, yet I would go check to see, and if it does, and you see documents are going to one drive, right click the documents folder, then move it back to your hard drive. Depending on how much data you have, this can take 10 minutes, to over an hour to complete. This should rectify the issue you have.
Edit: Sorry, checked and doesn't save to documents, so not the issue.

I don't see Graphics card listed in your computer specs. What graphics card do you have and are drivers up to date. I hope it's not the Intel® HD Graphics 3000 integrated into your CPU.

The error seems to be "The driver does not appear to support OpenGL" error happens when game is trying to detect your graphics card and what OpenGL versions it supports.

Sadly it is the Intel HD Graphics 3000 in my CPU, my actual graphics card broke down, saving up to get another one, but games with this graphics should affect it unless it as you said trying to find it.

What do you recommend I do?

You could try updating the driver for the Intel HD Graphics 3000. Problem is Intel does not support the chip on Windows 10 so you'd have to settle with drivers for Windows 8.1.

If your computer is a desktop like the specs you posted seems to indicate, best option would be to buy discrete graphics card. Basically anything you can buy out there is orders of magnitude better than the integrated chip you have. If you don't intend to play much games on your computer, even low end card will do.

Did you ever figure this out? I'm trying to play games on an old laptop while away from home, with similar specs. The game ran fine at first, but the second time I went to launch it didn't work - exact same way that it "starts" to launch as described above.

Same error as Dankarthis was having? Please post the content of your debug.txt file. Also post the system specifications of your laptop.

My fix: Before launching the game I have to delete a file called "config_new" in the installation folder. It sucks having to do it every time, but a shortcut to the folder makes it fairly simple to do.
