"Little Mouse's Encyclopedia" is an interactive encyclopedia for kids and their parents. You can learn a lot of things about animals and different plants while going on a little adventure.
I liked the artsyle and the music/sounds of the game, it made the whole game more atmospheric.
The whole game took me around 1 hours to finish with all achievements, they are not hard to find, if you are intrested enough you will easily find the.
I bought the game on sale for 1,24€ which is good for that game, i would have bought izt for full prize but a sale is a sale.
The game is nice so try it out!

I am 32 years old.

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.

When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.

Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.

With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.

After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.

Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.

Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.

Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

Absolutely adorable art-style. It doesn't have any story, but has a huge amount of lovely art and interesting facts about flora and fauna. I've had no idea acorn coffee is a thing even. After playing this game I've ordered it and enjoyed the hell out of it!

--- TL;DR ---
I was on the fence on how to rate this.

As a concept, it's a thumbs up. The art style is very charming and the music is nice. I think small children would enjoy interacting with the different animals, and the sound effects are subtle enough to not drive parents up the wall. It's super wholesome, and I think this is definitely a cuter and more ethical alternative to a lot of "kids games" that rely on flashing colors and micro transactions.

But honestly, get it on iPad. This game was not designed for PC, and there are a number of game play bugs and quirks that would probably be solved by being on a touch screen. But since I'm reviewing this on steam rather than an app store, it's ultimately a thumbs down.

--- More thoughts if you want 'em ---
I have a couple gripes which I'll summarize below, but I just want to stress that it's still a great concept, and I don't think small children would notice or care about a lot of these critiques. This is mostly from the perspective of an adult who fell in love with the aesthetics and thought it would be a cute game to just zone out and explore.

The Controls:
The tutorial very clearly says you can move around the world by tapping where you want to go, or by using the arrow keys. For the life of me, I could not figure out how to move with the arrows. I tried the actual arrows, WASD, restarting the game, and it just wouldn't work. There's also an encyclopedia screen where you can go through all the entries, and the table of contents is an absolute nightmare to scroll through. It feels like it was made for touch input, and they didn't test it with a mouse. You need to scroll ages just to move a tiny bit up or down.

The Achievements:
Achievement progress within the game resets every time you quit out. So if you fully explore 2 areas in one sitting and the other 2 in a second sitting, you will get the achievements for exploring each individual area, but you will not get the achievement for exploring all the areas if that makes sense. I generally like getting 100% on games, but I didn't wanna grind through the entire game in one sitting just for the sake of an achievement, so I gave up.

An educational sweet game for kids about animals and plants. I played it as an adult primarily for the achievements, but I also learned something interesting about some insects. I recommend it! :)) <3
