The games whole premise is competetive based leaderboards.

JFC this game is based around difficulty. If you don't like not being strong at the start, play something else that has no challenge.

It seems that this was patched out in Version 2 :steamsad:
It was probably so that the boss could be easily bug-tested instead of having to work to it every single run.
