If it's fun and you can do it consistently go ahead, but don't stress out about it. It doesn't matter. You can pass Giga trio consistently without farming if you have the mechanics.
Here's some advice:
From 175-200, ignore squids. Just clear Skulls so you can safely strafe-jump from Spider to Spider and shotgun them down. On top of that, nothing spawns from 200 to 230, so you have a full 30 seconds of free time to clear any remaining Squids after the Spider spawns.
Do not use level 3 homing if you have been. You NEED to be able to get level 4 hand if you want to clear Giga trio. Also, level 3/4 shotgun is very strong. Use it to kill Spiders and clear Squids.
For the Giga trio (250), try to get a clean scrape on one Gigapede, and focus down one Giga at a time. Don't get gem greedy for level 4 hand. If you can get one Giga down before Squid3's it will be SO much easier.
Pull your aim hard on the Gigas when scraping. You will be backpedaling at the tail of the scrape, which is scary, but it's the best way to do it. Pick a path, pivot your aim, and trust your movement.
I drew a diagram to explain what I mean by "pulling your aim". [cdn.discordapp.com] ( this is top-down view). You can't just driveby a Giga. Pivoting is key.
It's okay to dump homing if you still have 2 Gigas up before Leviathan, just make sure you dump them before 350.
Lastly, if all you want is the 500 achievement, I suggest you ignore killing Leviathan and just try to stretch with it up. It's hard but learning to kill Leviathan takes a lot of practice. Clear the beckons, and make sure the Squid3's don't regush.
If that's the case make sure your FOV isn't too low. I use 90, most other people use 100-ish. the default is 75 which is way too low.
I'd also suggest lowering your sensitivity if you have the mouse space. Most people leave the game with default sensitivity and skip pixels all over the place. I use 800 DPI with 0.125 in-game look speed. As long as you're using your whole mouse pad you should be good though.
I have mine at 1.6 but lots of big gamers just keep it at 1.8. Depends on your monitor too.
Bonus tip:
You can Ctrl + Click values in the option menu to type in values. You can type negative values into the look speed or FOV to break the game :D
by the way... the rest of the game after 500 is pretty fun if you're willing to give it a go. I actually enjoyed learning everything after Leviathan much more than the parts before it.
