Help with Spider Spawner
Alright, so I can consistently make it to the first real round where the dual skull spawners combine with the regular skull spawners and the spider spawner at one time. The problem is that if I try and take out the spider spawner initially, skull swarms from behind overtake me eventually; taking out the dual spawners first still leaves skulls as well as the spider spawner chewing through my gems; and trying to do a balance of the two still results in spiders being spit out while the skulls overtake me.

Any tips for how to manage the priorities of the enemies, or just for this part in general (40-80 seconds I estimate)? Thanks!

In general as soon as the first spider spawns you need to kill it ASAP. Forget everything, just move towards the spider and as the skulls pop up behind you you'll have to do a turn to ensure they don't fly into you. Doing slow curves works with skull 1's, and homing skulls you can usually shake off with a sharp u-turn. Movement is really key, it's just as important as shooting in DD.

To kill the spider you need to get accurate, constant hits and this is made harder by the fact the spider will randomly move left or right as you shoot at it, making it all too easy to miss a few shots and have it duck its head. I actually spray left and right ever so slightly to compensate for its movement.

Anyway if you are new, just play alot and die alot. Only way to get further is repetition to learn the patterns and get them stored in muscle memory.

And always a good tip is to watch the leaderboard replays. You can slow down and speed up replays with the < and > keys so you can get a better idea of how people are moving and how they react to spawners

if you are just starting out its fine if you just kill everything so thats easy to learn before you start farming and let gradually more spawners live.

just a few basics to master:
always move forward in strafejumps = nothing can catch you basicly and gathers inside a mob behind you
change directions in sharp curves = nothing will hit you and needs to turn around very long
look behind you and move backwards to reduce the mob when you are sure nothing is in the direction you're moving

you can also use this when you are against the first spider, move towards it in jumps, if you dont manage to kill it, it hides which is bad, so keep moving around in small circles in front of it and keep hitting in short intervals

While this is mostly true, one thing I want to add is that it's better to move diagonally whilst jumping. For example, holding W+D (forward + right) and jumping.

Also, don't worry if you don't have the bhop timing down yet. Jumping will give you a speed boost regardless of if you timed it right or not, albeit not as good of a speed boost.

The first spider will appear somewhere behind the last skull spawner that appeared. It's position is randomized, but it should be somewhere on that side. So I usually move in that direction. The moment it appears, you can start shooting it, even with it's head lowered. The target area is smaller in this state and is very near the bottom of it (it moves up as the head moves up, so you can follow it and continue hitting it). So this means you can shoot it way ahead of when it's really vulnerable, but you have to be quick and better to get in close. You can just spray it point blank like this, before it even start to move from side to side. If it does start to move and you lose your stream of daggers on it, you can do a couple of "shotgun" blasts to finish it off quickly without the same accuracy requirement. The shotgun blasts also keep it from lowering its head. It's a good technique to use even if you're far away and you lose the stream on it.

Once you get the first and second hand upgrades, you will be able to take out the spiders before they even raise their heads fully and start moving side to side. One shotgun blast point blank and boom, they're down.
