The good news is that I switched to Unity for all new projects last Fall. So it's mostly just a time constraint, not a lack of interest on my part.
The short answer is that I plan on more updates. The longer answer is that I don' know when those will happen. The game needs to be ported to a modern engine first and that's the big blocker on progress. I've explored a few ideas but haven't made any concrete plans just yet.
That's nice and all.. But it DOESN'T WORK. It might have worked (for some people, never me) a year ago but Windows has been upgraded twice since then.
With the current version of Windows, "windows 8 compatibility mode" prevents the silent crash to desktop yes but all you are presented with after that is a black screen with music.
I bought this game ages ago and I've never once been able to play it. It's a shame because it looked really nice in the screenshots and that's all I've ever seen of the game.
I have a not.steam version, not working, black screen with music.
If you are not going to update that one maybe you could give buyers a steam key.

Hi Cascadia,
I just bought the game on Steam and already have seen the 3 main problems with the game.
1. Black screen issue
Seems to fix it by setting my windows desktop resolution to something really low (ie. 1280x720). Then starting the game you see that it changes the resolution back to 1920x1080 till you exit the game. Not nice, but "workable". (maybe have the game swap to something low at start and swap back to the wanted resolution automatically?)
2. Gamepad issue
In console log I can get it to detect 2 gamepads (instead of default 1) by just duplicating the gamepad_1.cs profile to gamepad_2.cs. I can see it in the console.log. However in game I can see'
It are both xbox 360 gamepads in Steam (Thrustmaster GP XID to be exact).
3. Performance issue
When playing with 2 players it will be come very slow when more vehicles are on screen and gives hickups with big explosions.
My system (laptop):
Windows 10 64-bit
Core i7 8650U
Radeon RX 540
