Nope :/

Any more tips for this error? I'm really keen to play Krater (despite the negative vibe around these parts), but yeah, game crashes on load.

In response to kurairaf's suggestion, that folder hasn't even been created - I'm guessing because the game has never actually managed to run properly.

Win7, 64-bit.

Thanks The_Mess. I opened Event Viewer and it didn't give me any info about Krater, but it did tell me that the Nvidia auto-updater was crashing. I manually updated my video driver (the latest one came out about a month ago) and now the game loads.

Sweet, though the current version of Krater has an outstanding issue with some nvidia cards causing texture corruption where everything bar the squad's textures gets affected. I think the 500 and 600 series cards are affected, possibly the 400 but I haven't been keeping up with the issue as much as I should ;-;

Hopefully the next patch fixes it though...

There are no krater related entries in the event viewer.

Here is a link to my dxdiag: http://wikisend.com/download/563698/DxDiag.txt

and here is a link to the console logs, since there are no crash logs: http://wikisend.com/download/126222/console_logs.zip

Huh, reinstalled it again and now it works. Not the first time I installed it/re-installed it, but now it works. Sweet.

Cheers for that, no issues in the dxdaig noted and I'm looking through the console logs now and I'll try and work out just wtf is going on by the end of today (just woke up lawl).

Also, I've now got a Krater Supoort 101 post stickied at the top of this forum if you're wanting to try things out yourself ;) It's a bit rough though *coughcough*

@MauMau - gah, there's no error messages, looks like the game is just hitting a brick wall. Usually when a crash happens the cause is written to the console log for that session...

Hmmmn.

Looking at the logs in more detail, it looks like you're entering co-op and the game goes to generate the game world... Testing time methinks.

Sweet, happened to me as well, but I fixed it via verfying the game file cache:
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335

After doing that and downloading a file or two, you should see the intro cutscene and then be dropped into the opening mission of the game :)

I tried verifying a few times and 1 file was replaced each time, but still crashed at the same point. I tried deleting local content and reinstalling but it still crashed at the same place. I forgot to mention that I was getting an error "Unable to load cloud save. broken_file" that popped up on the title screen before I click "enter krater".

[FIXED] I deleted the default team (profile) and then restarted the game. When I launched it again, that broken_file error was gone, and the default team was recreated and more importantly, the game finally launched successfully!

w00t

I'll have to add that to the support sticky then :P And thanks for working that last bit out _and_ posting it!
