Is there a "return to port" function I'm not seeing?

I'm in the Iron kingdom right now, and I've hit a wall. Literally. I need rope to progress which I'm going to take as "you need to go to another location to get it" but this is at the tail end of doing a lot of tedious platforming. Does the game now expect me to backtrack through the ENTIRE level, to get back to the port, do the thing, and then go through the level AGAIN to progress? there is extending the game then there is being tedious. I understand it's being metroidvania but even they had abundant warps later on in the game.

Going back should be a lot faster then getting to where you are now. You will get warps later in the game.

It’s not that major, you needed a move from that kingdom to progress.
