I mean the core game is done. The game is pretty fine. I think it's the backers that got ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Can't say I'm remotely surprised though, it always looked like 505 just wanted to abandon the game and cut their losses the whole time.
Do you seriously not comprehend the fact that you can't just shove an 'asset' into a game? It's like saying "They literally have flour, why can't they bake me a cake?"
Y'know, the same thing Autumn is doing.
I am disappointed though. The whole reason I got into this game was to see Shantae, Shovel Knight and Ajna kicking ass together. Major bummer...
If this were most games I'd say there's a shot, if the assets could be gotten a hold of (not likely)
But this game was done in a cusrom engine that's notoriously difficult to hack -- in fact I vaguely remember reading something about how if someone managed to do it on Skullgirls (the other game that uses the engine) they would be hired by Lab Zero.
This is so ironic, considering the reasons why this game was left unfinished and backers were let down.
Back in the day when Skullgirls PC version was announced, somebody jested: "so can we mod nude skins lol." To which Mike Z answered something like "If you can hack the playable characters, I'd like to hire you." Which seems unfortunate now given the actual situation.
Skullgirls PC port is more than 7 years old. And since then, nobody has been able to touch the playable sprites.
the dream its dead and only if 505 does even bother on keep the hype alive of this game then the wise would be to reach out Future Club to keep on going the hype of the game on top tier quality content and countless more DLC's that they can easily come up with for long seasons to come!
