Are Hungry Ghosts in Tai Krung supposed to one shot my entire party?

Just got to Tai Krung for the first time, and I seem to be having way to much trouble with the hungry ghost monsters here. I can beat any other monster in the city (or any prior zone) with no trouble, but these stupid bowl-of-food looking things do absurd damage. At least 11k, even when blocked. All of my characters are just instantly one-shot, and there's nothing I can do about it. I cant kill more than a few of them before they get to attack and then my party just gets obliterated. Is this a bug, or am I missing something?

You should probably return to Tai Krung after leveling up and completing other areas. You shouldn’t really be getting one shot by anything in the game.

They shouldn't be one-shotting you. It's possible that your team isn't leveled up enough.

Sigh, yeah, well I guess Tai Krung is just the harder city. I went and did the other two cities first, and then came back and did Tai after putting gems into both defense and offense. That made the hungry ghosts doable, though still way harder hitting than even the boss fights :/

Also getting Nuna helped a lot. Her mines just shut down the stupid tongue attack almost completely.

I can confirm that the Hungry Ghosts in Tai Krung are horrifically unbalanced. Everything else in the zone does around 1k damage at most, but they do 12k+ even if blocking, which one-hit KOs whatever character they target. I'm lvl30 and left Tai Krung for last, so I literally have nowhere else to go at the moment.

What I did is to have a full Meter and spam the arrow on it until it can't do anymore damage. Then sneak attack it out of battle and do as much as damage and spam Dhars special attacks then mass attack to finish them off. Works wonders and if they have any section of energy left, spam the other characters special attacks. It helps if you have attack upgrades using the red stones.

Did you skip a lot of fights?

finished iron city, skipping 1 or two hungry ghosts. somehow, the tai krung ghosts went from 12k damage to 200 damage. (maybe not quite that low) I'm only at level 30, didn't expect that much damage reduction. No, defense upgrade didn't help.
