[spoiler] Confused about the secret boss

I've seen videos about the Unknown Meownster and the "Path of Pain" you have to get through to fight it.

I've completed everything in the game it seems, but I can't break the hidden block that leads to the Path of Pain. What am I missing?

Never mind; found the answer.

You have to talk to Mike Z, the almost-naked guy in a bathroom in Tai Krung. Talk to one of the cats, then to him. Then the way opens.

I often wonder if there's some kind of secret requirement to get any reward from him after defeating the cat. It seemed like he was about to give me something in the dialogue, then just dips out after a quick excuse. Kind of weird to have nothing earned after completing the biggest challenge.
