Why don't you level up when you're offline?
The game only acknowledges one level up when you're offline for any period of time.

if correct its a limitation so you cant speed thru the levels well your inactive.
as if it was possible you could go inactive for a month, and then return at a super high level.

if correct tap heroes has something likewise with the gold gain, as does loot hero.
which you will notice they were still in the idea stages of the limiters when they made tap heroes and advanced it in lootheros via miners, and even further in this with an buyable upgrade.
Technically the rquirements for leveling traditionally increases as you progress. The downside to going offline and having progression while you do so, is that eventually you reach a point you'll never progress further until you get back online.

It's mostly in most idle games where you're playing games that have an Ascension-type system where you reset to get stuff, but gotta work back up to where you got to last run.
Don't have the game obviously, but that's a reason why that sorta thing happens in games. There may not be any ascension system in place, where if ther wasn't, that sort of system wouldn't really be all that useful.

Though if there IS one, then that system is more or less required to ensure the game has a longer longevity than it normally would have.
