And about your argument
Think about it. Most people who wanted to buy the game officialy from Steam did it a long time ago, especially since it was being put up on sale often. What would be the point in renewing the licensing for all the cars, music, branding and other stuff, for thousands of dollars, just so that it would just lay there and gather dust because the majority of the player base doesn't care about this game and has moved on since it came out?
It would be simply a waste of time, cash and resources for them.
Especially since, while Dirt 4 is indeed seen as a better game than Dirt 5, it still isn't a fan favourite like the original 3 games were.
Overall, this is probably also what's gonna happen to DR 2.0 and Grid 2019 in 2 years, since all Codies games seem to operate on a 5 year licensing deal.
Think only the OG Dirt Rally managed to cheat the system, since it was up for 6 years I think.
agree with everything you just said
now that EA and Codies secured WRC license, i can see they will focus on new big project and then also abandon DR2, i mean since the last DLC it silent for a while now for that game
yeah it's weird for the original Dirt Rally, but then again if you look at it small size content inside it, nothing too flashy, just the custom livery and a single default team livery that used on WRC event that year but without all the small detail, and most of the car is from the past 10+ years, maybe they have an unlimited time deal ? i dont know
just like their F1 series game ?
