DiRT 4
Horrible performance with Macbook Pro 16" and Mac OS Catalina
I have an absolutely horrible performance with Dirt 4 in my brand new Macbook Pro 16". All settings are almost in "low" or "no" and resolution around 1280x800`px. Can't get even stable 30 fps.

My specs are:

- CPU 2,3 GHz i9 with 8 cores
- 32 GB RAM DDR4
- AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 4 GB
- Mac OS Catalina 10.15.4

In fact Dirt Rally runs much much much better and stable at almost 60fps with medium settings and higher resolution. Any ideas ? I'm doing something wrong with the config of Dirt 4 ??? :-/

I've seen Dirt 4 has a good optimization for mac, and in my opinion this is totally not true.

Thank you guys!!!

To be honest, macs uses opengl, and didn't use direct x which windows uses, to rival windows performance, the game has to use vulkan api. Unfortunately only newest game builds has vulkan (such as rdr2, ghost recon breakpoint, r6s, wwz, so on) (thus people don't use mac for gaming).
So either: You install windows as second os, or wait vulkan api games
dirt rally was too light, it's not optimized too, just lightweight and very little in calculation. Dirt4 has much calculation to begin with, in dirt 3 and dirt rally my fps could go 130 but on dirt4 its 70

and i don't think dirt 4 and dirt rally 2 has vulkan, it will be dirt 5

I've found the only way to play games on my MacBook Pro 16 is via Bootcamp. Less heat and faster frame rates.
