I think it will be possible in split screen atleast in the Rallycross mode, in the stage mode i guess it will be more like in the Colin Macrae games, that you start one by one. But i think wee will just have too wait and see what happens really.

I hope that's sarcastic! If that is a reason for you not to buy the game you are not a admirer of what the game is all about.
And no split screen mode if I remember correctly.

I'm into local multiplayer gaming and have 11 gamepads, etc. The racing games I'm most interested in can be played with at least 2 of my 4 steering wheels and a projector.

I don't mean to offend anyone, that's just the way it is. Since I have Dirt3 with split screen I was hoping Dirt4 had split screen as well. If it doesn't have split screen I won't buy it.
It doesn't mean that it's a bad game or that I don't admire it for graphics, realism, etc, it's just that split screen enables me to enjoy the game with friends at home and that's how I play computer games.

yes me too, want to play local with my friends and not over the internet

Why don't people bring their own gear to wherever you play? That's what we do from time to time. Not that difficult to do.

The prerequisites for what you're suggesting are quite different...

Apart from a network with decent internet connection, you need friends that own the same game on the same platform (if cross-platform isn't supported) with sufficient performance and be willing and able to bring their gear.

Local multiplayer gaming is simply easier and faster to set up and doesn't require extra copies of the game + additional hardware.

@BE_FlatOut
You got me thinking... I have 2 computers capable of running Dirt4. So if there is a super sale I might buy 2 copies of the game. :-P

Still... would be happier if it supported split screen even if it meant lowest graphics settings cuz it's easier to set up at work etc.

Problems:
1. Visibility
2. Won't hear your co-driver (It's vital that you do!)
3. Lots of distractions

Result --> Always crashing out and not finishing the stage/rally.

My view on split screen? No, it no longer has a place in a serious sim title.
