Wouldn't hurt to tell us the specs.

even running the game on the lowest settings possible laggs my laptop

its still higher than the minimum specs, and my laptop is a game laptop

Even so, the GPU in your laptop is not a good one. For a gaming laptop, that's a pretty poor GPU. If even at the lowest settings it lags, I'd imagine it's something your end causing issues. Drivers, firewalls, disk issues, could be anything.
Dirt4 running worse than Dirt Rally while delivering about the same level of visual fidelity is an objective fact. Stop talking down perfectly fine GPUs just for the sake of increasing gear-lust.
When did Ziphix demand the 965m (lower-spec chip) in a thin and light chassis (less thermal mass) to perform THE SAME as a desktop-970? Nowhere. That funny idea was born in your own head.

BTW. My r9 390 "enjoys" fluctuating framerates, as well. still somewhat playable, but certainly not as smooth or as optimised as Dirt Rally before it.

I dont know why or what caused this but i restarted my laptop and it runs as smooth as my pc. I had around 90fps :D

sorry that i thought the 965m was better/similar than the 970, i thought it was around the same level, i better had to look it up before is said this :p, but now i can enjoy the game anyway :D

Enjoy it for what it is currently, patches will come out, you're issues likely fixed and everyone can stop being so impatient. If you're gonna' make claims and statements directed towards me about what I'm claiming to have said, and least make sure it's valid beforehand.
That I will happily agree upon. Been on DR from about the second or-so week into E.A. It definitely had it's fair share of problems performance-wise on many but the most mainstream configurations.
And I am actually enjoying Dirt4 so far (only driven the Adam in R2-career plus one daily in the 205-Group-B until now, but with only minor tweaks to ffb th sim-handling for these 2 cars (on American dirt-stages) I find much less annoying than my first few miles within D.R.
Cheers!

Thats your problem. It's a 965m, way worse than a desktop 970. And the 970 is up to 50% better than the 965m

same bro
i tried all different graphic settings but it didnt work.
But for me it's kinda weird. It usually runs on 60fps or smth, but sometimes it just start to go down to bout 10 fps for some reason and it keeps on being like that until some time later.
However when that happens, I minimize the size of the game window and it goes back to 60 fps again
Is it because it doesnt run as well on Win11?
