For Anyone with Problems Starting the Game on Windows
Just before you do anything, this is only if your game doesn't appear at all when you run it.

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/33265663/api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0-dll-is-missing-when-open-office-file

Edit: The above link seems to have changed, although it should still work. You should be downloading Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015. This is another download location that could work https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/details.aspx?id=48145.

This should be the thing you need to download. If it says you have already downloaded it, uninstall the 2015 version you have and download the new one. If you are using 64-bit, download both.

If this still doesn't work, you'd be better off playing on the website than trying to make it work on steam. Website: www.starbreak.com

My game wouldn't start either, I would click Play and my Library said it was running, they not running a few seconds later.

I managed to fix it by right clicking on Starbreak in my Library > Properties > Local Files and clicking "Verify integrity of game cache"

Quit acting like your all high and mighty over something you found with a simple google search. If he thinks it deserves a pin, he will. If he posts about it, then he may or may not reference you in the post.

How about you find out what is causing starbreak to not show up even when you press play? LIke nothing happens. Tell me what is causing it. As if a simple google search will work.

Well for starters, what OS are you using? Are you running steam as admin? Do you have the latest DX installed? Is your AV possibly blocking there game engine? Try turning it off for 5 min, then try launching. If not, go into the game file and see if the resolution is making the game crash.

If that doesnt work, send in a support ticket. Im sure they will either help you with it, or make a fix for it.

Im on W10 on a 32 bit system and it works completely fine

Just so you know, this is the leading cause of Starbreak not launching on Windows. It is pretty important when almost all the windows players have this problem. Anything else that you stated doesn't do anything.
How about you try to find the solution via google.

And I'm not acting high and mighty. I'm merely bumping up a post that is important when it fixes 80% of Starbreak on windows problems.

Why would I look for a solution when it's working completely fine for me?

Sucks being that 10%

If it's that big of an issue, then it looks like your gonna have to wait for an update. None of my buds have issues, they all use W7-W10.

Whatever, you never know. I just laid out basic troubleshooting stuff that might've helped

I don't want to interrupt your turd flinging contest but I have this problem and I have reinstalled and repaired the Visual C++ redistributable 2015 a dozen times over without Starbreak being able to launch on this laptop.

I'm at a loss for how to beat this glitch.

This fix didn't work for me. Nevertheless, thank you for the tip.

I hope you did your troubleshooting..... aka -restart steam, -restart computer, -reinstall game, -reinstall steam(if you have to), etc.

Looks like a problem with your computer and Steam starting.
