"Steamshim" would like to receive keystrokes from any application

When I open the game a window popped up saying ""Steamshim" would like to receive keystrokes from any application" I denied the option. However, I am a but iffy about this. Could anyone explain what is happening?

Steamshim is technically the app that runs when you launch oneshot, which is a little executable that then launches the game properly. It's used so that the steam API code can be kept separate from the main oneshot game code.
