Script ‘Interpreter 7’ Bug?

Hi! I just struck an issue during gameplay.

I’ve just activated the generator for the robots and have been wandering around for a moment, and when I walked back into the outpost, I found the computer active again. However, when I tried to open it up, I got the following error message:

Script ‘Interpreter 7’ line 279: Errno::EACCES occured.

Permission denied @ rb_sysopen - C:\Users\___\OneDrive\Documents/DOCUMENT.oneshot.txt

Once I click ‘OK’, the game locks up and is unresponsive. I have to force quit and reboot the game when this bug occurs.

This bug has been really frustrating and I’d love to continue advancing, but I can only assume that the computer’s dialogue is crucial to advancing. Without it, I’m stuck in the Barrens.

I understand there’s another discussion regarding this/a similar bug, but it’s geared towards a Mac OS and I’m on Windows 10.

Please help me. I would appreciate any suggestions or potential fixes that can help to correct this bug on my end.

EDIT: I have just attempted to unsync the Steam cloud and delete the save and p-settings files. However, after rebooting the game and making my way to the place where the corrupt text is encountered, I've found that nothing's changed. I've also tried verifying the integrity of my files, but that didn't help either. I'll try whitelisting the game on my antivirus and see if that will help, but I'd still appreciate any guidance you can give.

This is due to the game trying to create the file at the path listed in the error message but it's running into a permissions error. Try running the game/steam in admin mode and/or temporarily disabling your antivirus for this part of the game.

Hello!! Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to assist me. Your solution solved the dilemma perfectly. I will admit that I'd figured out a solution prior to your response (my antivirus had been blocking the game's attempts at generating the "special" files, so I whitelisted the game and everything proceeded smoothly), but I intend on installing the game on another system of mine and the information you've provided to me here will most certainly assist in the setup. I truly appreciate your assistance.

Thank you again for all you've done for me... And if I may say, thank you dearly for all the work you've put in to develop such a wonderful game. I may be (about) six years late to the punch, but even still, playing OneShot has truly been a magical experience. You can really see the love and attention that went into this game and I feel lucky to have gotten the chance to play it. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I will never forget this.
