[Linux / Debian GNOME] [Spoilers] Wallpaper event not occuring
When reaching the ruins and talking to the computer which changes your wallpaper to the solution of the 5x6 square puzzle, my wallpaper did not change; which would prevent me from progressing if I didn't know the solution already.

More system software information:

OS: Debian 9 64bit
Desktop environment: GNOME 3.22.2

Additionally, it would be nice to have a pinned post with a list of tested DEs, along with what works and what doesn't

Everything is supposed to work, and supported DEs are GNOME, Unity, MATE, Cinnamon, KDE, Xfce and Deepin. Are you seeing libgio-2.0.so.0 in OneShot's game files? (Should be in ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/OneShot).
If you are, delete it and relaunch OneShot at the part where it's supposed to change the wallpaper and check if it works then.

I do see it, 1.8MB in size. Will try what you said and get back!

Edit: the wallpaper change did happen (and so did the revert to current one) after removing said file!

Seeing the same issue in Ubuntu 19.04. Removing libgio-2.0.so.0 solves it here as well.

The amount of sass you get when you answer no to the question asked is painful though. :p
Especially because the information truly isn't there.

yep, seconding the ubuntu 19.04 (GNOME 3.32.1) desktop wallpaper not working...
I accessed the game's "Wallpaper" installation directory to solve the puzzle...
"Kocka" thanks for trying to keep up with all the different desktops...
