Code for Metal Safe Doesnt Work

I need to open the metal safe to get the gas mask and progress through the game. I found the DOCUMENT on my computer and it provided me with the 6 digit code. Only problem is, the code doesn't work. I've restarted the game multiple times, re-entered the code, checked and re-checked the document, but, nothing. Niko always says that the code isn't working.
What's going on? How do I fix this?

Did you talk to the computer in the outpost before trying to unlock the safe?

Yes, I talked to the computer. It told me to find the code on my computer and I did. The code just doesn't work when I enter it into the safe.

This same just happened to me. (I play the game first time on my own computer, 4th time in total.) I found the DOCUMENT.oneshot file from my flie arcade and the code in it but Niko keeps saying it isn't correct. Before I tried to use the code to the metal safe the game crashed on its own though while I was walking from outpost to the cliffs. I'm not sure what happened but when I restarted the game I was outside the outpost instead of the spot I had crashed on. Niko seemed to be fine and everything but then the code just didn't work. I uninstalled and deleted everything after trying again and again but now I respawn by the safe where I pressed "x" to close the game manually before uninstalling and after reinstalling the game. I even checked the code from the trash bin but it doesn't work either.

Yeah, I spoke with it before the game crashed. Now it won't even turn on to regive me the code. :( I'm retrying the "delete everything and reinstall" right now, hoping that it'd work this time.

having the same problem as well, however, there is no such document named "DOCUMENT.oneshot". the only 6 digit code I found was in a folder labeled "steam_appid", and that one didn't work for me. wierdest thing. tried uninstalling multiple times, to no avail.

Did you power up the generator in the barrens?

Try looking in your Documents folder, not the game files.

I was having the same problem, the solution is simple. Delete the DOCUMENTS.oneshot note that Oneshot added to the Documents folder and then talk to the computer again. A new note will then be added to the Documents folder.
