Bad Ending
So I found out that the non-steam version of the game has the worst ending in the game. If you close the game and reopen it, it brings you to the main menu, but...
The lightbulb is broken...
Niko is replaced with just their scarf and hat...
and if you start the game, it goes to a dark empty version of the room Niko starts in, and a computer promt appears saying "You killed Niko".
Glad I got the steam version...

That's how it was originally supposed to be, which was why the game was called "OneShot", but now you can exit the game whenever you want (I think you get a weird interaction with Niko if you do that? Idk because I always only exited by using beds). Now OneShot is just an achievement you can get for only exiting the game through beds instead of closing the browser manually.

Oh man...If I saw that, I'd die.
(so so soooo glad I got the steam version--I'm not sure my heart, could take that)

If you want a lesser version of the original bad ending, just close the game without putting Niko to bed first. It's adorable but may make you cry. I couldn't do it, but my sister told me about it, and it gets worse each time you do it...

I heard you can save and close the non-Steam version by putting Niko to bed like you're supposed to in the Steam version, but I've never tried it.

Which is unfortunate but,the devs had to do it to make it more user friendly,Including adding the ability to play it multpile times.

I dont think they did that to make the game more user friendly but more because now the game isnt free and it would be pretty bad if someone brought it, started it, and closed the window at the start of the game for the game to be just like :"sike! you cant play anymore, you wasted your money :) bye."

Why not both?

"You have to complete this game in one sitting"
isn't a very attractive proposal to a someone. Not these days when even short games will allow you to save or keep track of your progress. That goes even more so when you're asking people to pay and your game is ~6-10 hours long.
Hey so I got to the part after you return the sun and I saw the clover message but I cant find any save data, maybe because mine's stored on cloud? either way I cant find it and thus cant delete it, help!
