Well, I was more puzzle on the first ending but I was sad for Solstice.

I was more emotionally painful with the solstice ending because I wasn't ready to say goodbye and well everyone else that's played the game but companions don't last forever Niko had to get home at some point her mama would be absolutely worried otherwise.

I was torn apart when i played THE ORIGINAL, and it was EVEN MORE PAINFUL in this remake due to added side content and because i HAD to go with restoring the light this time, dooming Niko to get stuck in this world.
I regret it because Solstice was such a disappointment that kinda ruined Oneshot to me almost completely.

Solstice absolutely destroys the original story vibe and themes. Remake as is already wounded itself a bit with being able to exit the game and load back, but at least that was understandable, a necessary evil for becoming a proper product on Steam Storefront.
But Solstice absolutely destroys the original narrative and themes with a story that isn't even good at all, it's like a one big piano in a bush written played and written by a 12 year old.
A sappy happy ending for no good reason with twists that ruin immersion and original endings.
Solstice actually made me pissed and i am still pissed about it.
I love the original, i love the remake, but Solstice ruined the story and themes for me.

I guess thats fair, really. but dont forget that for every bit solstice was breaking the mold that made oneshot. I personally love solstice, but i also see what you are trying to say. you expected oneshot to be as it was named, a game where you only have oneshot. to suddenly just have endless tries in a game revolving around only getting a chance is a little, whats the word? doesn't matter. Additionally, solstice is a bit more along the lines of bittersweet, if you as me. as it created a true happy ending for everyone, except for the player, as they made friends that they would probably never see again. so while its happier, i wouldn't quite say is a happy, sappy, even-the-grass-is-singing ending, as it does still have downsides.
Again, i get what your saying, but in the end, opinions are opinions

After reading up on Oneshot, having completed it now on Steam already, I'm kinda bummed out. I think a "true oneshot" would have made this so much better and affected me more.
I just assumed there was more to it and could be restarted later, and I could. So I never felt that pressured.

Still an amazing game. Loved it, just as I loved Undertale.
