I think i just wasted 6 bucks

when i try to launch the game, it gives me the error: "error opening OpenAL device" and when i look it up, it says its an audio player, i dont even play with headphones, much less sound on, but i dont think that matters. Either way, i think i wasted my money, unless yall can help

Try installing OpenAL here. (Download and run the Installer)

OpenAL is a common audio library used across many different titles. It's typically pre-installed on your system but in some cases it may not be. Steam typically also bundles it in when downloading and installing games it if it detects you don't have it installed, but in this case it appears to not have done that. There are plenty of other games and software that use OpenAL and so if you've been having audio issues this should fix them.

By the way, OneShot is not a waste of your time and money. It is more than worth it, I assure you. It's a great game with a great story that is quite engaging and emotional. It does have some technical issues due to its fourth wall puzzles, but they're all fairly easy to fix, and mainly common issues that affect other games, such as your issue with OpenAL.

i didnt mean i wasted money on a bad game, i know its really good, but i thought i couldnt play the game i just bought, so thats why i thought i wasted money, but anyway ill download it and try again, thanks!

Bad idea. Wastes space on your Operating System drive, I have OneShot installed on my LFS drive, not my OS drive, and it works just fine.

Yeah I would agree, I believe I wasted my money too. I am disappointed, I don't think a game could be good if it doesn't work.

If that were the case, then this game wouldn't have an overwhelmingly positive either and people would complained about it on the reviews.

OK OK OK this discussion is over, i fixed the problem, and its been so long since ive fixed it that im literally alr on a recording run, so please stop blowing up my feed, and stop tryna diss me, i love the interactiveness and how the game KNOWS its been gone through alr, so please
