Where is Proto?

Just got this game and I'm going through the second playthrough now. Got across the mineshaft and came back, but cant seem to find this "Proto" to do the dorm puzzle. Someone help please

I dont think you started sosltice, solstice is another route that leads you to another ending (there are 3 endings), You can start Sosltice by going to the big metal door with 0s above (it used to be a timer) then entering it. You can also do the "go home" or "save the world" ending. (depending what you did first.)
