sleeping, saving and quitting. How does it all work?
So, when i started this game i was given the inital impression that i must only sleep in the beds or else something bad happens, even though i can quit at any time and the game saves progress automatically. I was then informed that the game has limited saves, only for that to be confused by reading a threat, so now i'm just completely confused and need to know.

Is it ok to quit the game without using the beds now and then? Does it effect the ending?

No, it doesn't change anything during your playthrough. (You just won't be able to get an achievement) - Though there was another version of OneShot before the Steam version, where quitting the game would kill Niko, but that's not in the game anymore. :os_sun:

Crumbs, thats a bit dark for this title, and a harsh punishment for wanting to go eat dinner or something. Glad they patched it out, i don't think i could take niko randomly dying if i needed to just go for half an hour to do something. She/He is way too much like a friend of mine, so the emotional attachment is real, complete with tricking them into shocking themselves.

Thanks for the help though, that makes this game much less stressful and easier to play now.

HOW do you quit or save? How do you use the beds? If I type 'Z' when facing the first bed, it says "Niko just woke up here", but does nothing.

1) If you are in fullscreen mode, turn off fullscreen mode by either pressing F8 or setting it off in the settings menu.
2) Press this button with your mouse on the game window:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1246877786
This will then ask you to confirm if you want to quit, and will also save the game if you choose to quit.

Thanks! I think there should be a page, maybe under "options", that explains this.

So the bed has nothing to do with saving? Lots of discussion threads mention using beds to save.

Using a bed will quit the game as well, so it also saves the game.

but how do I sleep? I keep pressing "Z" next to a bed and the game only says it is time to rest but nothing happens.

you just need to interract with the bed (w), but Niko have to talk with you first, during the dialogue withe the red robot, in the Barrens.
