Easily overlooked moments/secrets? (Spoilers)
So I found out that you can take several extra pictures at the photo booth to get some fun reactions from Niko-- and that made me wonder if there are any other easily overlooked moments or secrets in the game that I might have missed.

I'm not talking about things that you get acheivements for, like finding the secret Ram club or trying to put the sun in the metal crusher. Just little things-- things that players may not always see if they're not looking for them. Like the photo booth thing, or getting some extra dialogue from Niko if you go back and look at Alula's fox plush while Alula and Calamus aren't in the room. Things like that.

So... have you found any other fun moments or lines of dialogue that might be easily missed by most players?

When solving puzzles without getting help from the entity you get some special dialogue.

When Alula starts following you, don't immediately go to Calamus but go inspect objects or talk to other people around the Glen, lots of additional dialogue and worldbuilding.

If your decision when you reach the top of the tower is Niko, the solstice begins and many people and places become impossible to revisit. It's the best outcome overall, but I'm sure I missed dozens of fun moments and lines of dialogue.

I knew I missed some stuff! I haven't done any of these, so I'll have to give them a try next time I play.

Here's a list of a whole bunch of them!

  • In general, characters in the game sometimes have more things to say if they're spoken to more than once.
  • Niko is wary of ladders. Niko will comment on them in the dormitories of the Barrens and again in the library of the Refuge.

Starting Area
  • The book in the starting room will become legible once Niko picks up the lightbulb.

Barrens
  • The Entity will continue to narrate things if Niko initially explores north instead of east.
  • Niko reacts appropriately to some names, like being in awe if you say that your name is "Niko".
  • After Silver plays chess with Niko, the chess table will no longer be dusty.
  • After obtaining the amber for the Rowbot, Niko can say goodbye to Prophetbot before setting out for the Glen.

Glen
  • One resident of the Glen appears to be catching eels(?).
  • Alula will usually chime in with additional dialogue while Niko is escorting her and exploring. In the same vein, Niko is kind enough to avoid napping until Alula gets back safely.
  • Niko can check the contents of the bottles in the village. Bonus points for finding the bottle of alcohol, and more bonus points if Alula is with Niko!
  • The trader has something to say about everything in Niko's inventory, like the amber. (The "Extreme Bartering" achievement encourages this, but it's worth mentioning here.)
  • Niko can show Alula a few items, like the strange journal, when she's at home.
  • The items in Alula's and Calamus's house can be examined multiple times. In addition, Niko will have their own descriptions of items in the house once Alula and Calamus leave.

Refuge
  • In one of the west apartments, Niko can try to play games with a certain robot. After the robot tries to play hide-and-seek, the girl nearby will have something new to say, too.
  • Once the elevator gets power, Niko can tell the lamplighter to try guessing the correct code. He'll actually discover it if you and Niko wait long enough.
  • Niko comments appropriately on using the tape before or after trying to use the magnetized button(?) in the elevator slot. If Niko tries to use the button as is, it will turn into a "you tried" item.
  • The lamplighter might be busy, but he'll hold the elevator door open for Niko anyway. He'll stay there for as long as he needs to.
  • In the library, Niko can describe the bookshelves in slightly different ways. Try having Niko examine one of them over and over.
  • It's not as likely to be overlooked, but for the sake of completion: Niko can show Dr. Silverpoint the amber.
  • Niko can show the lamplighter one of the large lenses. He'll respond appropriately.
  • Niko can keep taking pictures beyond the first. (No, the picture that Niko blinks in can't be used....)

Ending Area
  • In the room resembling the one Niko woke up in, the book has slightly different text from the one at the beginning.

I am going to take a lot of time to find out what happens when Lamplighter(elevator guy) tries every code...
also while I'm doing this, I think the entity(I'm not sure if it is the entity, but I think so, I don't know why the door would be saying it) is saying "[PLEASE MAKE HIM STOP]" after it say access denied...
Well, time to go through around 63014 combinations
(please wait for after I did it...)

It's been a while since I played, but there's something in the floor of one of the many empty dormitories in the Barrens that triggers a very cute little dialogue. Similarly, there's a non-AI robot cleaning one of the apartments in the Refuge that Niko can use in a manner it wasn't designed for.

These aren't _that_ easily overlooked if you like to interact with stuff just to see what happens, but they make Niko so friggin' cute that it'd be a crime to miss them.
