Safe code in the Barrens.

So, this is my first playthrough of OneShot and this safe in the Barrens is giving me trouble. I've looked in my documents folder and I don't see a document about OneShot. Nothing. Can someone help me with this? Plus, I'm crap with computers.

What you're looking for isn't a folder, it's a .txt document!

It's in the documents folder. It should be called DOCUMENT.ONESHOT.TXT

Go into your File Explorer app. Look under the documents tab. Go under mygames/OneShot and it should be there. Have you interacted with the PC in the generator building? If not, then that's why you didn't see the file.

What? The file dos not generate in the mygames folder. It's put directly into that person's documents folder.

I have an idea :
Do a research and search a file named: DOCUMENT.oneshot
maybe you can find the document and where it is localised.

Oh crap. Yeah no, I'm thinking of later stuff. The file does originate in your documents folder. And yes, it only appears AFTER you talk to the PC.

When running under proton in Linux I found the file at "/home/<username>/.var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/420530/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/DOCUMENT.oneshot.txt

Replace "<username>" with your username

I'm running it with Proton as well (because the native Linux version is broken; hooray!) and for me the path was: /home/<username>/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/compatdata/420530/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/DOCUMENT.oneshot.txt

Any other Proton users stuck on this can run:

find ~ -name DOCUMENT.oneshot.txt

...to search for the correct file.

Or, if you want it to find the document and spit out the text all at once, you can run:

cat `find ~ -name DOCUMENT.oneshot.txt`
