Arguing about Niko's gender

At the beggining I want to apoligize for my awfull spelling

This is the thing that annoys me most in this community
Developers have officially confirmed that Niko has an unspecified gender, so Fandom has decided that they will call Niko as "them"

But this community is intolerant, because if someone calls Niko a boy, nothing will happen, everything will be ok and others will call Niko a boy too, but if someone calls Niko a girl, then they immediately get triggered and start literally screaming that Niko's gender is ambiguous,
or that Niko is a boy. If Niko's gender is really ambiguous, doesn't that mean you can call Niko as you want: she or he?
It annoys me so much because, I personally think that Niko is a girl and I feel like I have to hide with it, because those who consider Niko to be a boy don't tolerate it

The worst part is that making a discussion is the only thing I can do about it and I don't think this is going to change anything

I suppose the reason behind leaving it unspecified was to let the player decide. In that sense, there isn't really a wrong answer.

I don't see why it matters. Personally, I think Niko's a boy. Niko is a generally masculine name, especially in Slavic countries, he act's boyish, and I just don't really see Niko being a girl.

That doesn't mean it's a big deal or that I have to argue over every disagreement on it. If you think Niko's a girl, then okay, you do you, it's vague on purpose. If you think Niko's a boy, then okay, same principle.

Honestly, it feels like since Tumblr-land burned to ash, it's old userbase is taking it's wars to the surrounding continents. Just live and let live, y'all.

That being said, can this thread be locked already? It's been a month, everyone, I'd have dropped it by now.

Okay so in the spanish language niko is refered as "he" like "El mesiah" (The messiah)
I think niko is a good boi [not a cat], I am not saying just because he/she's refered as "he", doesn't mean he/she's really boi/gril. It's what I think. Niko is a boi. A good boi. I love him.

Lmao, when I first played OneShot I just immediately took for granted that Niko is a boy. Tbh i just cannot perceive him (or them, whatever) as a female no matter how much brain effort i try to make. When I started reading all the community stuff I was like "Wait what? Is it even possible to think Niko is a girl?". But now I see it's true that the gender was neither specified in-game nor by the devs so I respect everyone's point of view :v

Except for people thinking Niko is a cat. No respect for those heretics.

I finished the game a while ago, and I can guarantee that, during all my playthough, most of the characters referred to Niko as a girl.
I played OneShot in Portuguese (my native language) and there were two occasions when they addressed Niko in feminine pronounms.
When I first talked to the factory scientist, she said to Niko "É isso aí, garota!" (something like "Way to go/atta go, girl").

Also, when I came to a snack bar to order Niko a pancake and, during our conversation, Niko said "O gosto é incrível mesmo! Ela fazia sempre que eu estava triste... ou sozinha... ou..." (The taste is really incredible! She always make them when I was sad... or alone... or...). The word "Sozinha" means "Alone" in English, but "Sozinha", with A at the end, is a feminine pronounm of the word "Sozinho", which is for neutral and masculine pronounms.

In Portuguese, they address Niko as "o messias", with the "o" for masculine pronounms too. But in Portuguese, most masculine pronounms can be read as neutral, for both masculine and feminine. The word "Presidente" (President) is masculine but can be used for both genders.
In this case, I have ever read anywhere something like "a messias" to adress feminine individuals. I can not tell if even exist such a word in feminine. I believe that it is used for both genders.
