the savefile you are deletting at the end of the game is fake, if you really want to restart the game you can just do "delette local content" by selecting the game on your steam library

Seriously, I'd kill to get a complete wipe so I can have my brother try it

I'm trying to do this right now as well. Everywhere I can find online has you deleting the file from the Registry Editor, but I don't see the OneShot folder where it's supposed to be.

Turning off Steam Cloud Save and deleting the OneShot folder in /AppData/.Roaming/ did it for me. That was before I got an ending though. And I do believe it does store that in the registry.

Huh, that worked. I guess I was just overthinking it.

I looked in the registry for "oneshot" and apart from the steam related stuff, there were no entries the game made; i do believe that only the non-steam version modified the registry.

as far as i know, there is no way to start ABSOLUTELY fresh other than buying a new computer and making a new steam account and buying the game over again.

Just turn off steam cloud sync, clear the AppData/roaming/oneshot folder, and then launch the game.

Well, you can TECHNICALLY play the game over again post-Solstice, and it's essentially the same as the first go except

(SPOILERS)

"Niko" is just the World Machine pretending to be Niko so you can relive the story.

Yes, this is true, but Niko's character is The World Machine. It's not the same as Niko, it has lines running through it and is somewhat transparent

can you do another solstice run after that though? i would guess not... but then again I'm only on my third run right now. I'm testing out the idea of the deleting the folder in %appdata% thing... I'm too lazy to have to redo everything a fourth time to find out it doesn't work...

the tip of going into
%appdata% roaming
and deleting the oneshot folder worked!
