How does the game know my name near the start? It's sooo freaky.
It can't be from Steam.

From what I can tell, it's taken from your Windows Account Name.

...Noticed that because I'm currently struggling with that myself (posted a topic in Troubleshooting). Game keeps referring to me with a different name since upon first launch, I hadn't updated that name for years. xD

No clue how it's going to work on another OS, but it's likely your profile name there too. I do wonder what applications such as games have access to to begin with, I can see people getting paranoid about their PC's security.

Okay thanks. It was really a fourth wall breaker. Especially since it became windowed when that happened.

Its from C:\Users and in there the logged in account, or from windows itself if there is an easy way to see
fun fact: if your window user's name is ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°), it only shows the (

which is unfortunate because I wanted god to be lenny face

Yeah. i think that's because it only wanted your first name.

Actually, I think the game wasn't coded with unicode support in mind. So even simple characters like 狐 or even 猫 (which are kitsune and neko respectively for fox and cat) won't show in the game itself.

Now, I haven't tried that, but that's just what I'm basing on from another topic I read about a similar thing.
