Solstice Route assistance
Hello, I would like to restart my game so I can access the Solstice route, I beat the game once and want to restart it so I can get the "true" ending, but I am confused with something. I know that I am supposed to delete something from my oneshot folder in order to "restart" the game (im told the characters, namely Niko and The Entity, will still be able to remember you, hence the quotations around restart), but I don't know what to delete as I dont want to mess up the game entirely.

So basically: What do I need to delete to restart the game? I really like this game and wanna experience it as spolier free as possible. So yeah, sry if that sounded weird or anything, I just wanna make everyone in oneshot happy ya know? No sad little Niko and no doomed world. This has been a good game so far and I dont wanna mess it up while trying to play it ya know?

Pretty sure you get a hint somewhere. But if you don't know, you need to do what the game wants you to do. You had checked the folder the game made at least once or twice, there is a non subtle file named save something. In fact... before you even do that, I am sure a message somewhere tells you to do exactly that. (a message in your files, not in the game). Look around in folder.

It should be in your documents folder, delete the non subtle save file only. Then reload game.

Normally, after finishing the game, I'm pretty sure your Desktop background is supposed to change and show you a message, but something may have accidentally prevented it from changing. It would have told you to open the clover.exe file in Documents/My Games/Oneshot. So try doing that, and see if it helps clear anything up.

If it didn't, then try this:
- Go to Documents/My Games/Oneshot
- Delete "save_progress.oneshot"
- Start the game again

Also, here's a small hint if you want to make sure you end up on the right route (since it's still possible to accidentally end up on a normal route again):
Do not leave with the Rowbot. There is something new you have to do in the Barrens instead. Keep looking around.

Yeeeah. I remember the "message" wallpaper now. That's how I knew about it, I am sure. Just putting it here since it's not nor should be a big spoiler if OP did finish the game. To anybody else, they should not even check this thread anyway if they don't want spoilers. But anyway, yeah.

Many thanks, I will try this when I get the chance!

I read a guide saying to run the clover.exe when you try to start up the game after completing one of the normal endings. I did that but the message I got wasn't entirely specific on what I should delete

Hence, why I made this thread. Thank you and sry for any trouble I may have caused.

Edit: I was looking in the wrong place, I was looking for the file to delete in the local files (via steam), sry for the trouble!

Btw, and sry for making this longer than it needs to be, but I read in a guide, the same one as before that I needed to play through like I was going through a normal run, but when I get to the Refuge, I was suposed to open that weird door. Then the game would reset once more and I could truely start the solstice route, did I understand this wrong? Or do I skip straight into finding the things necessary to do the solstice run like you said?

Sry for all the trouble, I just wanna make sure I understand everything right.

Hm. I didn't have to do that when I played through it. But from what I understand, as long as you are playing a New Game+, I think you can use the door in the Refuge to return to the Barrens if you accidentally left there without finding the alternate route.

When you first start a new game after deleting your "save file," you should notice that some things seem slightly different than the first time you played (for example, some different dialogue right at the beginning). And if so, you should be able to proceed directly to the Solstice route, as long as you can figure out where to go. That's how it worked for me, anyway. Maybe this part was changed at some point? I have no idea.

But if things do seem different this time, then remember: do not leave the Barrens with Rowbot! There is something else you need to do instead. And it can be easy to miss if you aren't paying really close attention to your surroundings.
