Nope, there are specific puzzles where you have to find answers outside the game but you'll know when since it defaults to windowed mode

There's no pressing NEED to keep it in windowed mode, since the game normally forces itself into windowed mode when something related to your computer happens, but you can if you want to or find it more efficient.

just the fact the finish of the game have more surprise/feeling moment in windowed mode, that less emotional/comprehensive in full screen.
