I call Niko an it because you can't convince me that it's human.
Right, Niko is not a cat.
One of the devs said Niko doesn't have a gender, another one said Niko's gender isn't revealed, can't remember which said which.
What's true, though, is that Niko's gender is unspecified in ordero to make the player more bonded with him/her for extra feels. uwu
That's not it, it's just easier for people to do that even though they don't realise it. It's the same as the trick used in Undertale.
