BoA german strategy
I wander how well making your whole fleet consist completely of submarines would work. Im gonna try this as I tried it alittle and learned that british destroyers and my torpedoes go together like peas and carrots. Without a surface fleet sinking those brittish bb's wont be as satifying though. thaoughts on this strategy?

Already tried this. First few missions went well, sunk everything with a group of 2-3 U9. Later on when the larger ships appear the will be to far away for subs to damage them after you took care of their DD cover. I had a mission with a BB left after i killed his DD buddy. He always stayed close to max range for my deck guns making it impossible to kill. Having no chance chasing him down because even at surface speed he is much faster. -.-
With surface ships on your side the AI is more agressive and always closing in at you at some point of the battle.

I dont know im only in 1940 now, but ive sunk 2 battlships and a carrier, and lots and lots of heavy and light cruisers. But it might go south.

I prefer the surface ships as Germany but they do not have enough of them. So if you play on a harder difficulty the Germans run out of surface ships quickly, especially destroyers. I hope they get Italian ships at least eventually.

the only problem ive had so far is the aircraf twith depth charges, and subs running out of torps, but theres rearming things near america

Yep. If the Brits can get a carrier it will also be a hard counter for your surface fleets. I wish the AI and me had more surface fights because they use carriers really well in my experience. I lost a 4 ship cruiser fleet to a single carrier and I could not do anything about it. It was kind of amazing.

I'm currently playing a more standard mixed fleet, but regarding sinking enemy BB/other capital ships with your subs, go for those first ignoring the escorts. AI DD are typically blind to your presence until torpedoes hit so get as many full spreads of torpedoes as possible onto targets that will otherwise escape you as your first hostile action. Even if you can't outright sink them hopefully you'll at least slow them down enough to either turn and use your stern tubes on them as well, or be able to come back with reloaded front tubes whilst/after dealing with the escorts.
Then again if you're focusing purely on a SS force then getting capital ship kills is only a bonus for reknown rather than a priority, if a few escape it shouldn't hurt you greatly in the long run.

Thelost penguin, yet you go for the big stuff first, if its there at all that is. I usally just send 2 torps in the dd's direction and 1 at a random freighter, it will either hit the dd and end it there, or if they miss the freigter willg et hit and it will alear tthe dd. Cerlin, im not talking about carriers. Its the plane the brits get because they are vlose to land, the really big one with 4 engines
