Player count and status of the game?
I am interested in Blackwake. I found out about it in a meme on reddit (still counts) and decided to take a look at it. From what I've seen so far, it's a pirate-themed Guns of Icarus (which I loved a lot).

So, my question is: what's with online? How long does it take to find a game?

GOI is similar to Blackwake. But blackwake is more simple to pickup. Where as GOI has a very steep learing curve. And With GOI you have to have each player assigend to specific task. Where as with Blackwake. Players are really as micromanaged as much compared to GOI. Infact it's a easy cake walk when things are for a ship on the brink compared to GOI. And as for the servers. They would most likley be populated all the time. If they did not reset daily. And a 24 hour reset really makes it a bare to keep the servers populated. So the game it self has nothing to do with why the servers are not constantly populated. It's just the daily server resets. And that means that only clans groups that are large enough will be able to get a server to get going much more easier than just a server with a few people that are managing it.

That... does not answer my question at all.

She has a small but dedicated fan base. It's a good game to play with friends and a good place to be an idiot on a boat and make new ones.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

depending on your location it shouldnt take to long to find a game, im from AUS and even with the time zone differences i can usually find at least one 3/4 full NA server or some EUR servers when i jump on at our evening time.

give it a chance, if you get onto a good boat with a decent captain its a very fun game! *yargh*

There ought to be a Halloween sale. Problem is the current patch is a bit broken but work is in progress so it should be solved for the weekend.

Here is the official discord for the game if you are interested. https://discord.gg/4eTJHGn

Pretty good game but the playerbase was always low. You'll find about 2 servers in the US and 2/3 in EU.

If you're fine with it then go ahead. I play at 160ms in NA servers without issues.

It takes you the time it takes to start the game and join a server, there are usually at least 2 full ones at any given time, and a few more with some players.

Populations varies ofcourse with time of the day and day of the week but i have never had any issues finding a game, ever.

game is over dude don t buy it, 1000 servers and all empty

Well it depends on the time you are playing. Prime time EU which is ~8pm-12pm CEST (UTC +1/+2 depending on summertime) you will usually find several full servers. Peak is usually 9pm CEST. Esspecially on weekends. US prime time is also good not as strong but still solit.

Low point is when your good play time is around 10-11am CEST which goes as low as 40% of a single server population. You still can play on low pop servers though since BW has low pop mechanics.

Given that I usually play on EU evenings I never really have problems finding a server.

Weird. I have not encountered that problem, and I'm speaking from a little bit of experience.

It happens sometimes. Crew wanting to play very specific stuff threatining mutiny or kick when it is not happening. Not a problem for well known Captains because those are knwon well enough for a mutiny over such a thing being unlikley to succeed and votekicks also tend to not work agsint them either due to being modderators or modderators seeing the begin of the votekick and instantly investigateing what is the root.

When I see people votekicking their captain on a server I'm Mod on I put a stop to it. Changeing captain is what the mutiny option is for. I have in the past and will continue kicking votekick abuser. Repeated offenders have recived perma bans in the past.

The only possible exception is when mutiny is bugged which happens sometimes. Then the captain position is always past to the current captain. But then the correct reaction is still not a votekick but first ask the captain to pass captain on their own accord and second attempt to reach a mod/admin to deal with the problem. Votekicks are in the game to get rid of trolls, teamkillers and so forth in sittuations of no modderator presense or when mods don't catch it.
