Paper-thin players that can't cope with their suck, so they troll and ruin it for others.
Nobody understanding 'ping' or how to 'kick'.
Filled with toxic players from every arsehole of the world.
Take your pick.
Part of 2 and 4 are issues with nearly every MP game.
Kick or suffer your choices.
Have to disagree with this part. There are tactics, techniques, strategies; all inlaid in the gameplay as is. You just have to figure it out through experience, because there's no hand holding in this game.
The rest of what you said, though.... Pretty accurate, although I have plenty of fun. Tenacity is the word.
This is exactly the point I was making in game a few times when all high ranks 300+ go onto the one team and just smash the other team with easy, all it does is make new players quit which will kill the game we like.
When I posted that I was called a noob and told to refund the game, I bought it on release years ago and im near lvl 200. I don't think people like these will realise their mistakes until the game is fully dead without a single busy server.
1. The game play was just too repetitive, and the meta discouraged boarding at the time which made galleons the king of the game. People got tired of hull plugging simulator and many left.
2. Toxic like no game ive seen before or since, every ship had the N word in the name, so much so we couldnt kick or ban for it cause no one would be left.
3. I think the Devs werent prepared for success, this game was a huge success when it launched so much so there werent enough servers for everyone, the devs just couldnt make content fast enough to keep people around and when they finally did get the content out everyone had already played it and put it aside.
4. Team stacking is a thing, but its hard to stop in games like these, still it does hurt.
Some things that didnt kill the game but were annoying.
1. The requirement to restart servers, this meant that you couldnt keep a server populated 24 hours back in the day and really hurt communiy servers.
2. Community server infighting for population as the game started its decline, this lead to DDOS nasty reddits posts and such.
Alot of players youd find on are from the EU which is why nobody was on earlier and nearly 400 are on now.
