- Are you doing anything specific when it drops from 100 FPS to 20? (such as ONLY when you fire a cannon, or when a fire is ignited)?; ie. particle effects?
- Is is a constant 50-100 fps range, and still stuttering? or only the sudden drops?
- Does it run fine, but stutter only when looking at objects close up? (such as barrels, masts, or cannons), and jitter lightly? (ie. "microstutter")?
- Is there any artifacting? (Flickering graphics, green/blue/red/etc colors flashing on the screen at random, often in spike-looking formations?)
- Does the problem happen with V-Sync enabled?
- Have you updated to the latest NVIDIA or AMD graphics card drivers (or driver beta)?
- Have you attempted editing the CFG with other user's fixes to see if it works for you? Some, like Dhalucard, edited the CFG and changed some settings), disabled FXAA (also via CFG), and ran from EXE and their problem was resolved.
