Nah, just kidding, its not dead, and i dont wish it be(this is not one of those threads)...
However the reality is, that like pretty much any other game out there, it's time will come, sooner rather than later sadly.

That said, here is a worthy "succesor":

I would define it as a blend of Sea of Thieves with Blackwake, with a dash of Battle Royale genre. It is currently on semi-closed alpha, but you can get in for FREE!
Intructions bellow:

1. Join https://discord.gg/CUwb84X (Blazing Sails Official Discord Server)

2. Go to #playtesting

3. Type !key

4. Activate said key on Steam

5. Download and Install

6. When you want to play, go back to #playtesting and type !ready, you will join the #ready-to-play channel and others wanting to play will get notified.

7. On the Main Menu, where it says "Redeem code" type:
needmoney and MUGC-4TEF-XSMT-WVXY, get 200 gold (ingame currency used for cosmetics) for each code.

Cost, around 20-30 USD, most likely closer to 20(or less). Still half a year +/- until release so plenty of time to try it out for free and see if it is worth the money.

nothing about the imagery in the game recalls Realism, the bots don't even have movement animations for christ's sake.

if i were to give a name to blackwake's "style" I'd call it Stock Assets
