Home Design 3D

Home Design 3D

Is it possible to export as .obj?
Is it possible to export as .obj for using in a game for example, or even .fbx?

Hello, sorry you can't export/import from Home Design 3D.

but it will be available in a near future?

Hi again. We will think about it however this is not in our project. Home Design 3D exists by itself, developed in order to make interior design accessible and fun. Its vocation is not to be a 3d tool for other soft.

sorry to say, but you guys are nuts not allowing any external functionality. With just that one bit of functionality requested would have actually given you a fantastic product that can be "USED". seriously devs. think about it.

its not necessarily fun in your program, but taking the created assett elsewhere and actually making use of it, now thats some fun.

if you can make that option of exporting available for .obj or .fbx i am sure that you can get a considerable boost in your sales because of game developers.

I've installed the program on 2 of my pc-s. Made some work in both of them expecting to be syncronised via steam. I didn't, I can live with that, but when I realized that I can't export my 8 hours project well, lets say I wasn't happy. I think an export/import function would be a "must have" option in these kind of programs. Please make it happen! But otherwise I like the program, it's fun to use.

What's the point of not exporting to a format a contractor or architect would commonly use?
They missed a trick by not having an export as .obj in the program. Imagine if you had that AND you were granted licence to use the assets in your own games. Suddenly the tool can be used to quickly knock up realistic houses for games.

I have to agree export is essential, also need to be able to print the design to be useful.

Totally agree. Exporting models would be a great feature indeed and would make this software so much more useful.

The Open source Sweet home 3d exports to .obj

Also accepts custom models furniture etc and supports several formats

and it's free why would this even exist.

Does this still not export to obj or some other, common 3D file format?

I second this, and would consider buying this software if it could. Otherwise it is worthless to me.

Yeah, without, at least, .obj export options this "program" is absolultly useless. If you want to make a bad Sims wanna be game, fine, do that. Don't make a home design "Program" but then not offer creators, designers, artist, the ability to even make it apart of their workflow.

i agree with artist users, exporting is essential in a software like this.
