This or the Sims 3/4 for home design?
Serious question, Im thinking about designing my home, even building more rooms to make it better but I want a program to give me an idea of what exactly I want.

So whats better this or the SIMS for home design? I know the sim has lots of mod support so there is that.

Hello, that is a good question :). In the Sims you can create a full house with floors and dynamic lights. In both soft you have a multitude of items and customization. On the other hand in Home Design 3D you create 2d plans with units and quotations (meter or imperial). The first view 3d mode is really usefull to visit in real time your project. Moreover the interface permits you the have an overall view on your projects and switch easily between them.
