Can it export to FBX, obj or similar?
I just discovered this on sale. I'm interested.

But can I export the model to an FBX, obj or similar?

Hello! It's not possible to export to any of these formats. With Home Design 3D, you can only import and export .hd3d files.

Okay, thanks for getting back to me.
Then unfortunately I won't buy. :/
It's okay, at least you know :)

Home Design 3D and Sweet Home 3D are very different and the goal when using one or the other is not the same either.
Home Design 3D is more for home decoration and indoor/outdoor architecture design.
Sweet Home 3D is rather for modeling your home in 3D.

It just depends on what your needs are really :)

Even though your point is understandable, it would be a great improvement to the app if there were more export options, so we could improve on the 3D project as we'd like. It really is a shame that there is no option to export the model to other applications so we can create a more advanced render, using proper illumination and material textures. As OlaHaldor pointed out, you are losing clients with such limitations on a great and easy to use 3D Modeler.
