Why is this game not contributing to global achievements?

When going to the official store page there is a little grayed out thingy on the right side where all the features are listed that says "Profile Features Limited" with a little question mark that upon hovering over says:

And sure enough my achievement showcase only says I got one perfect game instead of two. Also achievement tracking sites like completionist or steamhunters either say the game license has expired or that the game is restricted and therefor won't contribute to steam profile statistics.

I'm curious to know what's up with that.

Hi again,

I have been looking into it and it seems like it has to do with Steam's algorithm, so there is nothing I can do about it. It's something that has happened to a lot of indies in the last couple of months and it's quite frustrating. Apparently it's based on sales and player engagement figures, so small indies like myself are screwed. Hopefully Steam does something about it soon enough.

I'd like to add that the algorithm is also influenced by positive reviews as well as the number of people who wish list a game.

Yep! That's why reviews are so important for small indies like myself :)

Also, games that are Profile Features Limited typically aren't allowed to have Steam cards, yet strangely this one does.
